The municipality of Alcobaça with about 55 000 inhabitants, an area of 408 km2 and 18 parishes, is the part of the Silver Coast closest to various cultural-religious-historical monuments. It is home to the lovely city with the same name which holds the renowned Monastary of Alcobaça , a World Heritage Site. Alcobaça city is easily accessed by the A8 motorway, just 109 km from Lisbon.
