The medieval town of Obidos is the kind of place you want to keep going back to, again and again! Once you cross the main gate into the walls you enter a world of enchantment and get a taste of what life was like way back then. You may follow the main street filled with quaint shops up to the Castle grounds or sneak through the narrow cobblestone paths up to the belvedere.
There is plenty to see and experience in this town. If you want to relax away from the crowd there are walking paths and a park just outside the wall with a beautiful view over the countryside. |

TIPS:
Enjoy the beautiful countryside view by walking on the Obidos medieval walls or by taking the paths right outside the walls. If you are attentive you can see the deer and other animals in the fenced area which leads to the children's park below. Within the walls, take advantage of the free internet access just across from the pillory. At the far end of the town you can visit the Castle grounds where the annual festivals take place. Don't forget to eat your chocolate cup once you drink Obidos renowned liquor drink "ginjinha"! Free parking by the aqueduct!
